A word from our host...

Ashley Vruwink

What is a journey? It is where we have been in the past, what we are experiencing in the present, and where we will be in the future.  Our journey is a culmination of all that has happened throughout our lifetime and beyond.  God is present in this journey from the very beginning, He knit you together in your mother’s womb. Now, He is our ever-present help in our everyday trials, and for forever in our inherited kingdom in Heaven.  Sometimes we get so wrapped up in hurts from the past or the unpleasantness of our current circumstances that we forget to see the bigger picture.  We can be filled with joy because of who Jesus is and what He has already done for us.  We can shift our perspective when our focus is on Jesus instead of on ourselves.  We can rejoice in knowing that God was, is, and always will be in control.  We can celebrate today knowing what our eternal future holds!  Jesus paid the ultimate price to take our sin, our shame, our hurt so we can let that go and live joyfully not only in the future, but be content now too, no matter what is going on around us.  Our past may be a part of our journey but it doesn’t have to define our present or determine our future, for we serve a good God that can redeem it all and bring us back to joy.
In God's Grace,
Ashley
